Profession in astrology is judged by 10th house and 10th lord of the birth chart.

As 10th house signify “Karm”/Work of the Native.

But today there 100s and 100s of professions it will be impossible for me to discuss all those in one go. So, let's choose one professional field such as Medical field 👨‍⚕👩‍⚕.

In general it is said that “Sign of Scorpio, Virgo and Pisces should be Prominent in the chart of a native who wants to be a doctor.”

As Pisces, Scorpio, Virgo naturally rules the 12th, 8th and 6th house respectively.

12th house represent asylum, hospital. 8th house represent hidden problems, unsolvable issues. Lastly 6th house is the house of disease, service.

But in my experience to decide in which line of profession a person will choose we have taken in consideration multiple factors. Not just prominence of particular sign.

As police officer will also have strong 6th, 8th house as 6th and 8th also represents enemies and death. An NGO worker will also have a strong a 6th and 12th house as 6th house represents service and 12th house.

In my research/experience the astrological combination which leads a person into Medical profession are:-

  1. 10th house or 10th Lord should be connected to Fire signs (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius) /aspected by firey planets (Sun, Jupiter, Mars). Because fire is the promeint element associated with change and cleansing.
  2. 4th Lord should be connected to 1st house. As 4th house/Lord signify caring, healing.
  3. Rahu should be connected to Mars. Connected here means Aspect, Conjunction, placed in each other's sign. Rahu is the planet which can do extreme things, Mars represent flesh, human body, this Rahu +Mars combo helps the native in dealing with complex human body properly/fearlessly.
  4. 3rd house should have influence malefic planets. As third house represents hands and malefics will help native do hard /cruel tasks. We all know that doctor have to do surgeries, cutting, stitching with their hands.
  5. There should be a 3–11 connection as 3rd house represents communication, skills and 11th house income,gains. It is must as Doctors use there communication and skills to earn their there income.

Now, as we have understood the yogas for Medical profession.

Let's use them but we will not apply them on D-1 rashi chart. We will apply them on chart called “Swamsa”. This chart derived with the help of Atmakarka and Navamsa.

Dr. Harshavardhan is a otorhinolaryngologist.

In his chart:

  • 10th Lord Jupiter is in Leo and 10th house itself has Sagittarius both are fire signs.
  • 4th Lord mercury is placed in 1st house. Creating 1–4 connection.
  • Rahu is aspecting Mars establishing Rahu -Mars connection.
  • 3rd house has influence of two malefics Saturn and Ketu.
  • 11th Lord is placed in 3rd house creating 3–11 connection.
